Into The Deep We Go
I’ve been treading water, buoyant and at ease. Always
Near the heated surface,
The sun kissed waves, the breeze. The
Ocean tides and currents, they sway me
To and fro, but beneath the smooth
Horizon is a world not many know.
Everyone has shadows; they call out from the
Depths. Among the frigid darkness
Exists all we won’t accept. You can’t
Evade forever, no, you can’t resist the
Pull. Face all of the burdens
Weighing heavy on your soul. Be brave,
Embrace the demons and then
Gently let them go. You’ll return to the surface, no longer scared
Of what’s below.
